Below are the actions we’re taking to make The Salt Side as socially and environmentally responsible as possible:

1. Our fabrics

We believe that what touches your skin should honor the earth.

That’s why our bikinis are born from an innovative Brazilian technology: Amni Soul Eco®, the world’s first biodegradable polyamide. This high-performance yarn is designed to break down up to 10 times faster in landfills and up to 20 times faster in the ocean, helping reduce textile waste and minimize the release of microplastics into marine environments.

This means your Salt Side was made to move with nature — and return to it. After years of sun-soaked days, salty waves, and nature-filled adventures in your bikini, you can let it go with peace of mind. When its journey ends, place it in a landfill and it will break down until it returns to the earth gently. We do our best to leave nothing behind but memories of a life lived close to the sea.

Our fabrics also carry the CO2 Control® seal, meaning they’re made with reduced carbon emissions — and are certified by OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, ensuring they’re free from harmful substances and safe for your skin.

2. Smart water use

We use reclaimed water — not drinking water — to dye our fabrics. Thanks to a partnership between our fabric supplier and SABESP (São Paulo’s State Sanitation Company), the water is always treated and reused in a continuous, closed-loop system that helps reduce waste and protect natural resources.

3. Plastic-free packaging

We’ve chosen to eliminate plastic and unnecessary waste from our unboxing experience. Your bikinis arrive in reusable cotton pouches that are soft, practical, and made to last.

4. Slow Fashion

We’re not a big city brand — we’re on island time. Our bikinis are handmade on the Brazilian island of Florianópolis, where production follows the rhythm of the tides.

Instead of chasing trends, we focus on essence: timeless bikinis that feel good, fit perfectly, and last for many summers to come. Our approach to fashion is conscious and intentional — built on quality over quantity, and guided by what truly matters.
